Method, and The Sport of Schutzhund

Here dogs are trained through the use of compulsion (forced behaviors through the use of stimulation), and motivation, by utilizing your dogs' drive. Never are two dogs trained in the same way as dogs have different thresholds, and different levels of drive. This is one of the many things that separate PDTS from the others, the ability to properly evaluate each dog as an individual, and put forth the proper training techniques to bring the dog to it's full potential. Other trainers don't understand this, and consequently train dogs through mechanics. (Training every dog the same way, regardless of temperament) This of course doesn't work, because of the difference in thresholds, and drive. This is partly why so many of my clients before coming to me, had their dog trained previously by somebody else, and weren't satisfied. The other reason is that these trainers were not trained by accomplished Schutzhund competitors.

Schutzhund is a sport created by the German Sheperd Club of Germany (SV). It is a sport intended on testing the working capability, and temperamental soundness of a dog. There are three different phases to the sport consisting of protection, obedience, and tracking. This sport is the foundation for my training, and if you are interested in learning more about Schutzhund please give me a call. (please refer to types of training for all of the services offered).
